These tools are similar to the standard functions for inserting objects into a map. These can not only snap to nodes, but also to edges. Activating the snap mode is not necessary.
After digitizing an object, each object node is considered with the objects (reference) of the same layer.
If close to the source node a reference node is found, the source node is moved exactly to the reference node. If close to the source node a matching edge (without nodes) is found, the source node is aligned to the reference edge. In this case, a new node is inserted into the reference object at the matching point.
The visible cursor size defines the search tolerance for matching nodes and edges. To change the cursor size open the MapCAD settings dialog.
