Fixed scale values are available for the scale. An individual scale can also be specified via the list entry (1: 0 [...]).

With the option from map window, the plot frame is set to the visible size of the current map window, regardless of the current zoom.

With the option from selection, the scale per plot page is determined individually from the size of the selected object and the object is displayed as large as possible.

Fixed paper sizes are available for the paper size. Depending on the country setting, DIN or letter paper sizes are offered.

Individual values can also be entered using the list entry (0x0 [...]).

The plot frame is rotated according to Portais / Landscape and the orientation of the paper for the printer is preset..

Use the arrow keys to move the position of the plot frame in the map window. The button in the middle [...] can be used to define the step size for the shift. If one of the options that require a selection is set, the position keys are not active.

Use the + and - buttons to change the current zoom range of the map. This is only for better orientation and presentation of the plot frame and has no influence on the print result.

If a rotation angle is specified, the plot frame rotates accordingly (<< 10 ° >> / <1 °>). With the button in the center [0 °] any angle can be set. If the rotation angle is automatically determined from a plot frame layer, these function keys are not active.

If objects are selected in the map window, all objects will be displayed on a single page. The plot frame is automatically placed centrically over all selected objects.

If objects are selected in the map window, a separate page can be created for each object. The plot frame is placed centrically over the first selected object. All objects are processed in a loop. For each object, a separate page is created with a map frame that is centered on the associated object.

Example

There must be a frame layer with frame objects (rectangles). The frame objects can also be rotated, for example along a street. If such frame objects are selected in the map window, a separate print page is created for each frame. The frame center and frame rotation are used for centering and aligning the map frame on each print page. Notice that the extent of the frame objects is ignored. The size of the map frame on the print page depends on the Paper Size and Scaling settings in the dialog or template.

The frame layer may have any columns that can be used for outputting table contents on the print pages (see Options texts).

On the print pages, the frame layer is hidden. Therefore the map window must contain at least one more layer.

Example: A map window contains a layer of aligned frame objects (selected) along a road and other layers. The frame numbers and street names are in the columns ID and Name of the associated table. With Plot Map or Plot Template a separate print page with the entries from the table is created for each frame object.

Create a new frame layer for automatic rotation
A frame layer is a normal layer, with the condition that only rectangles are included. The layer can be created manually with any name.

Alternatively, the current plot frame can be used to create a new frame layer. Click on the [i] button with the option Automatic rotation from frame layer and save the current plot frame as a new frame layer. This layer can be edited and supplemented with other frame objects (e.g. by copy/paste and move/rotate).
